Intel LANFest - Team Fortress 2AM: Tournament of Kings

Gaming Northwest will be hosting a King of the Hill (KOTH) TF2 tournament at the Portland Intel LANFest on October 17th. The tournament will be 7 vs. 7. Teams will be picked at random by the Gaming Northwest staff. This will be a tournament about having fun and not being overly competitive.

Signup for this tournament by replying to this thread. Signups on the Intel LANFest forums will not be assigned to a team. Please also specify in your post if you would like to be a captain for a team.

Details
- There will be 8 teams of 7 players in the tournament

- The tournament will start at 2AM on Saturday (10/17/09).

- Signups will close at 12AM on 10/17 and teams will be chosen by 1AM.

- All teams will be chosen at random by the Gaming Northwest staff

- It will be a Highlander tournament

- 7 players per team and 1 player per class (There will be no Spy or Engineer class)

- The tournament will be single elimination with 3 rounds total. The third round being the finals. A team will win the round if they win the best two out of three attempts at the map during the round. The final round will be instant re-spawn for massive action between the final 2 teams.

- All maps will be King of the Hill maps.

---- Round 3 Map: Garbage Day (Custom Map)

- Spawn camping will not be tolerated. A team will get two warnings for spawn camping. The third instance will be an instant elimination by your team for the tournament. Again, this tournament is about fun.

- Any cheating or hacks verified by a Gaming Northwest staff member will result in instant elimination by your team for the tournament.

- In the event of a tie, the round will be replayed.

Be sure to download and install the following KOTH map pack before the LAN as we may use maps from it.

just registered for the LANFest, so i thought i'd chime in here, as well. i'm definitely down for a tf2 competition.

i don't mind being a captain, but seeing as the teams are selected at random, what special purpose does the captain serve?

also, given that it's one class per team, can we call out a preferred class? if so, pencil me in for medic.

Its easier for me to deal with 8 captains instead of 56 players. Captains will be the ones gathering their teams when time to play and reporting win/loss back to me. Make the tournament run better.

Your team will decide who will play what class.
